Three years ago HIMSS-NCA initiated a Charity Award Program. In its first year, HIMSS-NCA awarded $3,000 to an Outpatient Clinic serving the local uninsured population to fund a project leveraging IT to improve the healthcare of its patients. We plan to continue this program and hope that we can increase the award in future years. The award monies are funded by HIMSS-NCA sponsors. Our overall goal is to support charities in the D.C. metropolitan area.
The process begins with applications submitted by interested charities, which are reviewed by the HIMSS-NCA review panel. Applications are due by Nov 15th, the recipient is notified by Dec 15th, and the award is presented at the January HIMSS-NCA meeting.
If your organization is interested in applying or you know of an organization that could benefit, please feel free to forward an application. Please email all completed applications or questions to the HIMSS-NCA Charity Chairperson, Rob McCashin at rob.mccashin@agilex.com.
In keeping with the mission of HIMSS we would like to make an award to an organization who will be utilizing funding for a health or healthcare technology related endeavor.
